New Cars 2011 Chevrolet Volt Live Reveal Picture
General Motors is continuing its series of almost daily webchats with one of the people who helped bring the 2011 Chevrolet Volt Live Reveal to life. This week’s target is the leader of the team that gave form to the upcoming extended range EV, Bob Boniface. Boniface led the exterior design team that created the extremely aggressive original concept and, after the concept gained production approval, he became the design director for the Volt and other vehicles coming off the Voltec (formerly E-Flex) architecture. He was then tasked with transforming the concept into something more production viable, a job we certainly don’t envy.

Last but not least among this year’s Comic-Con rides: GM’s Transformers Special Edition Chevy Camaro. You likely remember the details, but in case you don”t, here’s a refresher: for around a thousand bucks, you get a bunch of Autobot and Transformers logos on your otherwise stock-trim machine. The only requirement is that the car needs to be Rally Yellow, for maximum Bumblebee effect. In case you were wondering, you can get pretty much the exact same car, sans all the movie tie-in pieces of flair, for $470 over sticker; that’s what plain black stripes cost when you order them alone. Like Bumblebee on his interstellar voyage from Cybertron, the New 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Car has taken years to arrive. If we take the Transformers analogy further (bear with us), the Camaro has landed after a few Decepticons – the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang and Nissan 370Z – have already begun staking out territories. More than the others, the Camaro has to justify its place in the battle, while at the same time backing up three years of unrelenting hype.The outside looks good Yellow or Black would be better. BUT the interior is a let down for me. It looks really cheap. Too bad. I don’t know why Chevy can’t make an interior.
